Core Motivation:
Founded by patriotic Gambians deeply concerned by the nation’s declining political and security situation, worsening living conditions, and rampant corruption. We act in response to the urgent need to halt this decline, reverse the betrayal of public trust since independence, and re-awaken a national spirit of integrity and common good.nation’s future.

To identify, endorse, and provide comprehensive financial, strategic, and grassroots support to a credible, reform-minded presidential candidate for The Gambia’s 2026 election, in collaboration with like-minded groups and individuals.

Guiding Principles for The Gambia We Want in the 21st Century:

• A Government of Accountability: One that audits itself, fights corruption at all levels, and signals a definitive break from the self-enrichment of the past.
• A Government for the People: One that is responsive and implements policies focused on poverty reduction, security, and improving living standards for all citizens.
• A Re-awakened Patriotism: To rebuild a national ethos where public service and the common good are paramount, restoring citizen faith in their nation’s future.

1. Coalition Building: Uniting diaspora and domestic Gambians, groups, and leaders around a shared reform agenda.
2. Candidate Identification & Support: Diligently vetting and selecting a prospective presidential candidate who embodies our principles, followed by wholehearted mobilization of resources for their campaign.
3. Public Engagement & Advocacy: Raising awareness about the need for systemic change and the coalition’s mission.
4. Grassroots Mobilization & Fundraising: Building a broad-based movement and financial foundation to empower our political objective.

Coalition For System Change (CSC) & People’s Alliance For Change (PAC)

Dacula, Georgia USA and Lamin CDC, WRG Gambia - January 25th, 2026

Coalition For System Change and People’s Alliance For Change have agreed in principle to collaborate in an effort to strengthen our resolve of bringing political parties and civil society groups who share our values under one umbrella to form a grand coalition following an executive meeting on January 25th, 2026.

CSC  based in the United States with members both abroad and in The Gambia, and PAC have the same overarching goal which is to defeat President Adama Barrow in the presidential elections to be held on December 5th, 2026. Our aims and objectives are mostly aligned. For context, we both believe in the following:

• The country is heading in the wrong direction and this government does not have the interest or the competence to improve lives of Gambians
• That reforms that were the sole aim of the 2016 Coalition for which Adama Barrow was elected have not been fulfilled or implemented
• That corruption is rampant and our resources are being mismanaged with impunity
• That crime, rising youth death using the “Backway”, drug trafficking, unemployment, failed institutions, high cost of living, police abuse and suppression of people’s rights using the Public Order Act are a major drag on our economy and prosperity
• That divisive politics is creating a toxic and dangerous phenomenon in our country

Vice chair of CSC Joe Sambou said, “we are not in any competition for a better Gambia, but rather complementing our efforts because our aims and objectives are similar.” 

Papa Jagne the Chair of PAC said, “trust and speaking with one voice or creating that unifying factor is what we need to show people that we’re confident about our work and our objectives.”

People’s Alliance For Change (PAC) settled in the Gambia envisages a new Gambia built on the foundation of a fair and ethical society that would guarantee freedoms, social justice and good governance. Ensure probity, transparency and accountability and respect the rule of the law. A nation free from corruption and mismanagement.
